Schaefbauers win tennis classic titles

PRINCETON — Sixty-one singles players took the courts during last weekend’s singles portion of the Tiger Tennis Classic. The doubles portion was held the previous weekend.

Mike Murfin of Pekin won the men’s 40 and over. Jeff Trobaugh of Sheffield was second while Rick Peacock of Princeton was the consolation champion.

In the men’s singles, Skip Schaefbauer of Normal won. David Dobrose of LaSalle was second while Zack Giovanine of LaSalle-Peru was the consolation champion.

In the women’s singles, Jana McCracken of Yorkville won. Savanna Weitzel of Ottawa was second while Jill Horn of Dixon was the consolation champion.

In the girls 14 singles, McKenna Schaefbauer of Normal won. Audrey Melton of Rock Falls was second while Regan O’Fallon was third.

In the boys 14 singles, Daniel Ferguson of Dixon won. Logan Olszewski was second while Connor O’Fallon of Ottawa was the consolation champion.

In the girls 16 singles, Isabel Schaefbauer of Normal won. Whitney Lewis of Mendota was second and Savanna Weitzel of Ottawa was the consolation champion.

In the boys 16 singles, Logan Chismar of Streator won. Seth Tyndall of Ottawa was second while Jacob Hockings of St. Bede was the consolation champion.

In the girls 18 singles, Bailey Bradish of Ottawa won. Brittany Krohn of Princeton was second while Alexis Bower of Ottawa was the consolation champion.

In the boys 18 singles, Zack Giovanine of LaSalle-Peru won. Thomas Osborne of East Moline was second while Logan Chismar of Streator was the consolation champion.
