Olson awarded EIU Excellence in Fine Arts Scholarship

CHARLESTON – The Eastern Illinois University Excellence in Fine Arts Scholarship Award has been presented to Jamie Olson of Princeton.

This award, established by Jan Tarble, is administered through the EIU Foundation and presented to an outstanding EIU student majoring in one of the fine arts offered through Eastern’s College of Arts and Humanities. The recipient must also demonstrate high personal performance and academic standing.

Olson, the daughter of Jack and Cyndi Olson, is a 2011 graduate of Princeton High School. She is studying graphic design while a student at EIU.

The Foundation, with an endowment exceeding $57.1 million, was established in 1953 and annually distributes more than 500 scholarships and awards to EIU students and faculty.  All scholarships and awards are privately funded and held in trust by the Foundation.
