Rebecca Roskens and Benjamin Shepherd were united in marriage Oct. 19 at the historic St. Peters Church in the village of Grand Detour.

The bride is the daughter of Pamela and Glen Turner of Walnut, and the late Jeffery Payne. The groom is the son of Susan (Charles) Atchley of Sterling and Dan Shepherd of Dixon.

The bride was presented in marriage by her mother, Pamela Turner, and attended by her cousin, Amelia Broeren, as her maid of honor. Her sister, Jessica Morris was her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Samantha White, Amelia Schultz and Anna Jacobs.

Nathan Fossett served as best man. Groomsmen were Mark Morris, Matt Keegan, Matt Kleinmaier and Christopher Miller. Aidan Morris, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer, assisted by his brother, Christopher.

A reception to honor the couple was held at the Post House in Dixon.

The bride is a graduate of Bradley University and is employed by East Coloma-Nelson as a fourth-grade teacher.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Illinois and is currently employed as a physician.

After honeymooning in Turks and Caicos, the couple is making their home in Walnut.
