Clara spent a great portion of her life as a fantastic cook last working at the Lakelawn Lodge a huge resort in Delavan, Wis. She was also a loving homemaker. Clara loved going to church and couldn't wait for Sundays. She was a member of the New Hope Church of the Nazarene. Clara was also one of the oldest active members in Illinois of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, headquartered in Hatfield, Ark.

Clara is survived by two of her children, Barbara (Carl) Prokes of Princeton and Gary Harmel; three grandchildren, Daniel Erdman, Andrea Erdman and Kimberly Evans-Prokes; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Clara was preceded by her parents; both husbands; and two sons, Gordon Harmel and Rodney Harmel.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service celebrating Clara's life will be announced at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to VITAS Hospice Care, LaSalle; the New Hope Church of the Nazarene; or to the family for distribution.
