Meet the Tigers

PRINCETON — The 2014 Meet the Fall Tigers and Blue-White Scrimmage will be held at Princeton High School Friday night.

The Star Spangled Singers will get the evening started at 6 p.m. Introductions of all fall sports participants, including golf, girls tennis, boys soccer, cross country, volleyball and football will follow.

The varsity football team are scheduled to scrimmage at 6:55 p.m.

There will be a Meet the Tigresses Night for the PHS volleyball team on Monday starting at 6 p.m. at Prouty Gymnasium.

Meet the Storm set Friday

MANLIUS — Bureau Valley High School will be hosting Meet the Storm Night for all fall sports on Friday.

Beginning at 6 p.m. all parents are encouraged to meet for approximately 30 minutes in the following locations: football (auditorium), cheerleaders (room 311), cross country (media center), volleyball (gymnasium), golf (room 444) and drill team (room 412).

Rules and procedures will be discussed at this meeting.

Following the meeting all fall participants will be introduced on the football field. After the introductions, the football and volleyball teams will hold a short practice/scrimmage.

In case of inclement weather, all introductions will take place inside the gymnasium.

Hall football tickets on sale

SPRING VALLEY — Season tickets for the 2014 Hall High School football season are now on sale at the athletic office from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They will also be available at Friday’s Red-White Scrimmage.

The JV scrimmage will start at 5:45 p.m. Friday with the varsity to start around 7 p.m.

Swim tryouts

PERU — The Illinois Valley YMCA Dolphins Swim Team will hold informational meetings from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday and 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the Illinois Valley YMCA. The Dolphins team is open to ages 4-21 from novice swimmers to national competitors. The Dolphins are offering to experience the swim team for free from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 8-11.

Flag football camp

PRINCETON — The Princeton Park District will hold a youth flag football mini-camp for grades K-6 from 5-6 p.m. Sept. 1-5 at the Bureau County Metro Center Field. The camp will include the fundamentals, emphasizing team work, self confidence while developing sports skills, overall strength and coordination.

Flag football league

PRINCETON — The Princeton Park District will hold a youth flag football league for grades K-6 running Saturdays from Sept. 20 through Nov. 1 at the Bureau County Metro Center Field. Games will begin at 1 p.m.
