Barbara Bush

SHEFFIELD — Barbara Ann (Barry) Bush died peacefully at the age of 88 at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born in Sheffield, the daughter of John and Margaret (Kane) Barry and moved to the Quad Cities following high school where she met her husband. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel R. Bush Jr. and sister of the late Jack Barry and Dorothy Maes. The devoted mother of Samuel R. Bush III, Donald Steven Bush and Elizabeth Wey, and grandmother of Sarah Elizabeth Gurren and Kelly Marie Gurren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Schmitt and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Barry.

Barbara spent many years in the Savings and Loan industry before going to part-time employment to stay busy. She loved her animals, especially her cats.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheffield. Celebrant will be Fr. Mark Miller. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Save the Animals Foundation located on Red Bank Road in Cincinnati, Ohio, or to the Scratching Post in Silverton, Ohio.
