IVADA holds meeting

PERU — Illinois Valley Activity Director’s Association held a meeting on Aug. 11 at Liberty Restaurant in Peru. President Jackie Latsch from Heritage Manor in Mendota opened the business meeting while Rhonda Griffin from Perry Memorial Hospital read the minuted from the previous meeting. Donna Barsztaitis from Spring Valley Nursing Center did the roll call and Jolene Kulpa from Spring Valley Nursing Center gave the treasurer’s report. Kathy Conner from Heritage Health in Streator offered a publicity report.

Latsch said emails were sent to surrounding nursing homes in order to ascertain new members. Chris Thompson from Greenfield in Princeton provided members with a craft idea and discussed the Illinois Activity Professionals Association’s upcoming convention. It will be held in Decatur Sept. 24-26. The theme is “The Quality of Life is Determine by Its Activities.”

Griffin addressed members on short term rehab activities programming.

The next meeting will be held at noon Monday at the Liberty Resturant in Peru. Kulpa and Barsztaitis will talk about crafting.

New members are welcome to attend and will be awarded two continuing education unites at the meeting.
