Suarez, PHS take opener

The Princeton Tigresses opened the 2014 golf season with a 207-248 win over host Putnam County at Edgewood Golf Course Tuesday in McNabb.

Senior Sophia Suarez earned medalist honors, shooting a 48. She used only 13 putts in the process.

Also for PHS, Audra Reidner had a 51, Arraia Hicks a 53 and Sarah Crowe a 54.

“The girls played their hearts out after a very slow start, getting over the first match jitters and nervousness,” PHS coach Will Gross said. “The girls are already focused on what they need to improve upon at our next practice and prepare ourselves for an extremely tough match up Thursday night at Oak Ridge against host L-P.”

Kelsey Grosenbach paced PC with a 51.
