TISKILWA — Matthew "Teo" Gregory Reha, 32, passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014.

Matthew was born on July 19, 1982, in Tiskilwa. He spent his childhood at Plow Creek Mennonite Fellowship, and attended Princeton High School, where he was involved in music, drama and the arts. He also attended Goshen College in Goshen, Ind.

After many travels in his young life, Matthew found his place in Western North Carolina. His love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors were always within close reach. Teo raised cattle for a time, managed a buffalo farm, worked as a builder and bought land where he worked steadily on building his own home. Teo made dear friends along the way, his kindness and thoughtfulness touching many more beyond those closest. This was the common theme when talking to folks about Teo: thoughtful, kind, sweet, a gentle giant.

He is survived and deeply mourned by his beloved wife, Naomi Morningstar Langsner Reha; his parents, Rick and Lynn Reha; his sister, Meghan Reha; and extended family members, Elizabeth Reed of Williston, N.D., Andrea Reed of Crookston, N.D., John and Ruth Reha of Maple Grove, Minn., Jeffery and Jerica Reha and family of Clarksville, Tenn., Joshua and Kelly Reha of Maple Grove, Minn., Grant Kenneth Schmick of Gaithersburg, Md., Lauren Kay Andersen of Wilmington, Del., and Christian and Michelle Andersen of Baltimore, Md.

An outdoor memorial service for Matthew will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at Plow Creek Mennonite Fellowship in Tiskilwa with a potluck meal following. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and a dish to pass.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Matthew Reha to: SOAR North Carolina (http://soarnc.org) or Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (http://appalachian.org).
