PERU — St. Bede Academy will present “Fall Theatre XIX: Direction, Discovery, Destiny” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19, in the Abbey Church Lecture Hall.

The production features three original short plays about finding yourself and your purpose. In “The Difference,” Thalia has been a track star for four years but experiences a crisis of identity when an injury keeps her from competing. “About Anthony” depicts two teens who have locked themselves in a bathroom in order to avoid an embarrassing classmate, until they realize what’s really holding them hostage. “Genesis 0:0” offers a glimpse into the divine process of creation and the destiny of humankind.

All three plays were written by the Saint Bede Genesius Project, the Academy’s playwriting guild, under the direction of Academy drama director Fr. Dominic Garramone.

The plays will be adjudicated by representatives of the Illinois Theatre Association, and then considered for presentation at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival at U of I in January.
