ISP releases December activity report

LASALLE — During the month of December, Illinois State Police (ISP) District 17 troopers handled 1,189 calls for service and assistance. Of these calls, 227 were to help motorists whose vehicles were disabled on area highways.

Criminal activities during the month included no arrests for outstanding warrants, but there were 15 arrests made for other criminal offenses.

Traffic enforcement activities resulted in 137 drivers arrested for speeding and 17 cited for seat belt violations. Driving under the influence arrests totaled six, while there were three apprehensions made for other alcohol-related offenses. Troopers issued a total of 275 traffic citations and 359 written warnings to motorists during the month.

Troopers and weight inspectors issued three citations for overweight loads and issued no written warnings for overweight violations.

District 17 troopers handled 55 traffic crashes within the three-county area of LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam.

There were no fatal crashes handled by District 17 troopers.
