PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation recently donated $165,000 to the hospital to support the purchase of PMH’s new 3D Mammography (tomosynthesis) machine. This donation was made possible through a bequest the Foundation received from the Grace Sliker Vitelli Estate.

PMH is excited to be the first hospital in Bureau County to offer digital breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3D Mammography. This new technology provides a more accurate view of the breast, allowing physicians to better pinpoint abnormalities, leading to better detection and greater peace of mind. According to a study done by the Journal of the American Medical Association, the use of 3D Mammography has resulted in a 41% increase in the detection of invasive breast cancers and a 15 percent decrease in the number of women recalled for additional imaging.

Generous contributions to the Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation enhance the services and quality of healthcare for everyone served by Perry Memorial Hospital. The Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation Board is grateful to all who make an investment in the future of healthcare.
