Eileen Stephenson

MCHENRY — Eileen Stephenson, 90, of McHenry passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at her residence.

She was born April 12, 1926, in Lawrenceburg, Ind., to Wayman and Leona (Schumacher) Stephens.

Eileen enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking for her family and raising her children. She loved entertaining, often hosting holiday parties with live bands. Other enjoyments included, boating on the Illinois River and camping even when the children were very young. Eileen was an avid swimmer and loved water aerobics. She also traveled all over the U.S. and Mexico in her R.V.

Eileen was very active and volunteered with the Illinois P.T.A. District 34. She was a former resident of Osage Beach, Mo., and Princeton, Ill. Eileen volunteered with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary for the local hospitals in Osage Beach and Princeton.

Eileen is survived by five children, David (Cathy) Stephenson, Richard (Paula) Stephenson, Scott (Theresa) Stephenson, Melody (Hank) Boswell and Valerie (Brian) Beauban; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor “Duffy” Stephens.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loren, and her sister, Jean.

Services were private for the family. The cremation rite was accorded privately. Inurnment will be in Osage Beach, Mo.
