At the wedding in Cana, Our Blessed Mother said to Jesus, “They are out of wine (John 2:3).”
“You must not tell me what to do, woman” Jesus replied. My time has not yet come.”
Our Blessed Mother then told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.” This is what many people consider Mary’s Commandment, the 11th commandment.
This year marks the 100th anniversary one of the most important private revelations in the history of the church. Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, on six occasions between May and Oct. 13 when the Miracle of the Sun danced in 1917. At its core, the message is that without God, humanity walks in darkness, and we are called to be the salvation of the world.
Our Lady gave the three children three secrets: 1.The vision of hell, 2. That World War I would end, but if people don’t stop offending God, another and worse war will break out in the reign of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light. Know that it is the great sign God will give you. 3. The last secret was revealed in 1960 to Pope John XXIII. This secret was never made known.
It was Lucia that did most of talking to Our Lady of Fatima. Lucia later becomes a nun and expressed frustration the true message of Fatima was being ignored — that people dwell on Fatima’s miracles and secrets. The message of Fatima is essentially a call to faith, morality and spiritually, with references to Scripture and the Christian life.
Her concern was we are going to be judged by how we venerated with reverence, the 10 Commandments when we die. She says we must stop offending God. She summed this up in what she called Mary’s commandment: “Do whatever Our Lady tells you. That is what Our Lady wants.”
And we must do what He tells us in the 10 Commandments. It’s just as simple as that. If we live by the 10 Commandments, people all over the world and in these United States will be able to follow the path of righteousness and find happiness, a path mapped out for us to follow.
Why is it hey have outlawed the 10 Commandments, the religious rite handed down by Moses, from places that were revered and respected by Christian people in these United States? And when President Obama said we are no longer a Christian nation- — no religious leader spoke out against the president’s statement?
We are a Christian nation, and the commandments are the most important laws we should follow. In John (14:21) Jesus says, “Whoever receives my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me, and whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.” Whoever does not love me does not obey my words.
When the young man asked Jesus (Matthew 19:16), “What good deed must I do to gain eternal life?” Jesus’ answer was keep the commandments.
