SPRING VALLEY — Hall High School will present the Chicago Brass Band with the Hall High School Concert Band at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the Hall High School auditorium.

Tickets are $10. They will be available at the door or are available in the school office during school hours. To reserve tickets, call 815-664-2100, ext. 143, or email audtickets@hallhighschool502.com. Proceeds will benefit the Hall band and choir programs.

The Chicago Brass Band is a 30-piece brass and percussion ensemble formed in 2002 to promote the British brass band tradition with Chicago flair. The band, led by six-time NABBA championship conductor Colin Holman, has celebrated many achievements since its inception; in its first decade, the Chicago Brass Band has won the NABBA Championship, competed in the inaugural World Music Contest 2005 in The Netherlands(and again in 2013), participated in the renowned Whit Friday Marches in England, and twice been a featured ensemble in front of 40,000 brass fans at the Great American Brass Festival.

The band’s favorite activity, however, remains dazzling audiences in Chicago, one of the world’s premiere cities for brass musicianship. The band has particularly enjoyed recent performances with soloists drawn from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s celebrated brass section, including John Hagstrom, Christopher Martin, Mark Ridenour, Charlie Vernon and Gene Pokorny. The international award-winning Chicago Brass Band is a member of the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA).
