SPRING VALLEY —áThe Hall High School National Honor Society held its induction ceremony April 19 in the Robert Manahan Auditorium.
The National Honor Society is a very prestigious club. National Honor Society members must be outstanding in service, leadership, character, as well as scholarship. A candidate must have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher. Potential candidates fill out activity sheets, and then a select group of teachers (selected on a rotating basis) score the applicants based on service, leadership and character.
Current NHS members are president Makenzie Walk, vice president Kaitlyn Huston, secretary Alyse Ruda, treasurer Connor Whitten, Matthew Hoscheid, Hayden Neilsen, Kaylee Olivares, Ashley Choate and Jenna Lusietto.
Fourteen students were inducted this year.
New junior members include Erin Biccochi, the daughter of Beth and Steve Biccochi of Ladd; Nathaniel Draper, the son of Daniel and Ann Draper of Dalzell; Hallee Heredia, the daughter of Jennifer and Hugo Heredia of Spring Valley; Cassidy Jablonski, the daughter of Doug and Jennifer Jablonski of Spring Valley; Courtney Kobold, the daughter of Brian and Julie Kobold of Peru; Olivia Orlandi, the daughter of Anne Thompson of Dalzell and Richard Crew of LaSalle; Alan Ruiz, the son of Veva and Jose Luis Ruiz of Seatonville; Westley Schmidt, the son of Margaret and David Schmidt of Spring Valley; Madison Soldati, the daughter of Chris and Shantel Soldati of Cherry; and Cade Wozniak, the son of Doug and Renee Wozniak of Spring Valley.á
Senior inductees include Nicolas Edgcomb, the son of Randy and Toni Edgcomb of Seatonville; Christopher Enriquez, the son of Maria and Cristobal Enriquez of Spring Valley; Abby Hoscheid, the daughter of Jack and Becky Hoscheid of Arlington; and Shana Piotrowski, the daughter of Gary Piotrowski of Spring Valley.
All National Honor Society members and parents were honored at a reception held immediately after the ceremony in the gym lobby. The NHS adviser is Kayleen Loch.
