Coffeehouse performance

PRINCETON — The mother-daughter musical duo, Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche, will perform at the Princeton Coffeehouse at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the at Open Prairie UCC, 25 E. Marion St. in Princeton. Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is $20. Homemade desserts and fair trade coffee will be available. Calling PHS band alumni

PRINCETON — The Princeton High School Band would like to welcome all alumni to perform with the band at the Homecoming game performance on Friday, Sept. 29. Alumni will perform with the band for pre-game and half-time shows, rehearsing before the game. Dinner will be served with the band before the game. Cookout in Wyanet

WYANET — The Bureau Township Church will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Wyanet Locker. They will serve ribeyes, butterfly chops, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and pop.

Benefit for Todd Hawley

WALNUT — A benefit for Todd Hawley of Ohio, Ill., who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Green River Country Club in Walnut. To sign up for the golf scramble, which will begin at 2 p.m., call Tammy at 815-303-2696. The cost is $15 per person. Dinner tickets are also available. The event will also include a silent auction, live auction and a 50/50 drawing.

Car cruise night

PRINCETON — The Princeton Lions Club and Culver’s will host a Cruise Night from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at the Princeton Culver’s, located on Ace Road across from Walmart. The event will include tip boards, door prizes and music by Bad Dog DJ Service.

Fundraiser planned

LADD — The Ladd Community Education and Enrichment Foundation will be have a Rip’s fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25. Tickets are $8 for your choice of chicken or strips and fries. There will also be a bake sale, 50/50 drawing and raffle. Carry-outs are available at the front door. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

Ladd ALA meeting

LADD — The Ladd American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Ladd Legion Hall. In appreciation for the all the hard work at the fundraiser, there will be pizza  at 6 p.m. Those who have not given socks for the October Goodwill Stand Down in Peoria may bring them to this meeting. Marilyn Pavinato and Geri Devert attended the 2017-18 fall forum meeting with state president Marsha Haag in Bartonville on Sept. 17. The 16th District meeting will be Saturday, Sept. 30, in Wyoming, Ill. Anyone interested in going should contact Devert. Anyone interested and eligible to join the Auxiliary should contact Pavinato at 815-894-2047 or Devert at 815-894-2269. The meeting committee is Kathy Padgett and Marilyn Pavinato.
