PRINCETON — Blanche M. Janssen, 91, of Princeton passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Blanche was born Oct. 4, 1925, in Crookston, Minn., to Julius and Clara (Frank) Thompson. Blanche married Alfred Janssen in Texas.
She graduated from Tiskilwa High School. She was a member of the Tiskilwa Methodist Church and the Ladies Legion Auxiliary. She was a secretary for Scott Williams Finn Insurance, a donut maker at Casey’s and also a caretaker for many elderly people in the community.
Blanche was an avid ballroom and square dancer, she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice (Dennis) Dabler of Princeton; three grandchildren, Michael (Becky) Dabler of Chesterton, Ind., Matthew Janssen of Tiskilwa and Josh (Sabrina) Janssen of Princeton; and five great-grandchildren, Drew Janssen of Pekin, Teigha Janssen of Tiskilwa, and Blake, Alex and Ethan Janssen of Princeton.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Richard; and one brother, Curtis.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ladies Legion Auxiliary.
