Author event in Ottawa

SPRING VALLEY — Novelists Marydale Stewart of Spring Valley and Dan Klefstad of DeKalb will read from and talk about their work from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at Jeremiah Joe’s Coffee Shop in Ottawa, with sponsorship by Ottawa’s Prairie Fox Books.

The authors will read excerpts from Stewart’s “The Wanderers” and Klefstad’s “Shepherd and the Professor.” Both novels are published by Black Rose Writing, an independent publisher in Castroville, Texas.

Stewart is a retired college English teacher and librarian and Klefstad is the host of National Public Radio’s Morning Edition, which airs on WNIJ in the Illinois Valley area.

Copies of the novels and other books will be on sale at the event and at Prairie Fox Books.
