CUBA, Ill. — Thershea Marie (Barkley) Warren, 92, of Cuba, Ill., formerly of Wyanet and Kewanee, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at the Clayburg Nursing Home in Cuba.
Thershea was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Wyanet, the daughter of Calvin and Pearl (Johnson) Barkley. She graduated from Wyanet High School.
Thershea married Junior Crist in 1943, he died in World War II in 1944. She then married Joseph Warren in 1949. He preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1999.
Thershea is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Douglas) Milby of Toulon, Janet (Carl) McMillian of Cuba, Ill., and Tina Lindsey of Canton; one son, Clinton (Roseann) Warren of Geneseo; two brothers, Arnold “Jim” Barkley of Peoria and Bernard “Bunk” Barkley of Washington, Ill.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three sons, Arthur Warren, Kenneth Crossley and Richard J. Warren; one sister, Judith Young; and three brothers, John Barkley, Gerald Barkley and Donald Rhea.
Thershea worked at the Kraft Cheese factory in Manlius for a number of years. She was also a member of the Bunker Hill Church of God.
Thershea and Joseph had many foster children through the years. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking; she will always be remembered for her excellent goulash. She also loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor John Erickson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Bloom Cemetery in Tiskilwa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
