Annual Lady Landowners seminar announced

PRINCETON — A fifth annual Lady Landowner seminar will take place Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Bureau County Farm Bureau. The seminar will begin at 1:30 p.m. and light snacks will be provided.

Guest speakers will include:

• Mark Schleusener, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Census of Agriculture, what it tells us and why it’s important. He will focus on cash rent and other details on the census.

• Justina Chlum, FSA and Erika Luft, NRCS. The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) offers a wide variety of programs to assist farmers, ranchers and agricultural partners. They will highlight a few of these programs and benefits that could be of interest to female landowners and operators.

• Garrett Thalgott, Illinois Agricultural Association Attorney, basics of farm leases and rental agreements. He will share information about the different types of rental agreements, the importance of those rental agreements and much more.

All speakers will stick around to answer questions.

This free seminar is being supported by AgriEnergy Resources, Bureau County U of I Extension, Bureau County Farm Bureau, Bureau County Farm Service Agency, Bureau County Soil and Water Conservation District and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
