SPRING VALLEY — The Tri-DENT narcotics team, assisted by Illinois Valley Special Response Team, a detective from the Peru Special Investigative Unit, and Spring Valley Police, conducted a search warrant at 32871 Route 6, Room 112, around 6:05 p.m. Nov. 1.
The room was occupied by Everett Clinton, 32, of Chicago, and Heather L. Phillips, 24, of Streator.
The search warrant was obtained following an investigation into illegal narcotic sales from Room 112. After entry into the room was made by the special response team, Tri-DENT agents began a search and located about 2.5 grams of purported heroin and about 12 grams of crack cocaine.
Clinton and Phillips were transported to Spring Valley Police Department.
Following further investigation, Clinton and Phillips were both charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, 1-15 grams of heroin, a Class 1 felony, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, 1-15 grams of cocaine, a Class 1 felony.
Clinton and Phillips were later transported to Bureau County Jail by Bureau County deputies where they are being held awaiting a felony bond hearing.
