Logan students accepted into festival

PRINCETON — The Logan Jr. High School Music Department announced eight students were accepted into the District 2 Illinois Music Education Association District Festival on Nov. 11.

Students prepare scales and etudes, then audition along with approximately 300 other students. The top students are selected from each school to participate in a day-long band and choir festival at Augustana College. Selected to participate for Logan Jr. High School are Courtney Atkinson, Emma Frost, Maya Gartin, Riley Jansen, Rachelle Newberry, Reid Orwig, Ashlynn Scott and Kailee Winner.

The Logan band and choir invite everyone to their fall concerts at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, and Tuesday, Nov. 21, in the Princeton High School auditorium. The concerts are free and will feature a wide variety of music from patriotic to holiday and take you on a trip around the world.
