Bake sale in Dalzell
DALZELL — St. Thomas More in Dalzell will host a bake sale from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 9, in the church hall, 302 Chestnut St. in Dalzell. Also available will be Italian specialties and Christmas items.
CCW will hold cookie walk
PRINCETON — The St. Louis Council of Catholic Women (CCW) will be sponsoring its annual cookie walk on Saturday, Dec. 9, in Harkrader Hall, 616 S. Gosse Blvd. in Princeton, after the 4 p.m. Mass. The cookie walk will also continue Sunday, Dec. 10, from 8 a.m. until approximately noon. Refreshments will be served after the Sunday morning Masses and this will offer a special time of holiday fellowship. An assortment of holiday cookies will be available and will be sold by the pound. The public is welcome to attend.
Holiday bake sale in Tiskilwa
TISKILWA — A holiday bake sale will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Tiskilwa Community Church. There will be free coffee and goodies for everyone. Enter through the west side door. A chair lift is also available at this entrance.
PES announces Christmas programs
PRINCETON — Karen Robinson, music teacher at Jefferson and Lincoln elementary schools in Princeton, has announced times and dates for the seasonal programs. The programs at Jefferson will be Monday, Dec. 4, with the first-grade program beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the second-grade program beginning at 7 p.m. The programs at Lincoln will be Tuesday, Dec. 12, with the third grade on stage at 5:30 p.m. and the fourth grade starting at 7 p.m.
Vendor and craft fair today
PRINCETON — A vendor and craft fair, as well as a holiday flea market, will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. There will be free admission, with doors opening at 8 a.m. A visit from Santa, along with a free picture, will be from 10 to 11 a.m. The fairgrounds is located at 811 W. Peru St. in Princeton. The exhibit halls are heated and handicap accessible and there is a concession stand in the building. For information, call 815-866-3606.
Tiny Twister applications available
MANLIUS — Applications are now being accepted for the Tiny Twisters preschool program at Bureau Valley High School in Manlius. The program will start in January. Open Table supper and live nativity
SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield United Methodist Church will host a free Open Table supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The church will also portray the live nativity from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church parking lot. The menu for the night will be soup, applesauce, garlic bread and Christmas goodies.
Devilettes will hold fundraiser
SPRING VALLEY — The Hall High School Devilettes will hold a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Rip’s in Ladd. All chicken varieties will be available and the cost is $8. Drinks are not included. Carry-outs will also be available. The event will also include raffles and a bake sale.
