Senior Spotlight (Addison Moreland)

Addison Moreland • Bureau Valley

Date/place of birth: Dec. 2, 1999, St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley.

Hometown: Buda.

Family: Mom, Megan; Dad, John; sisters, Harley and Anniston; brothers, Dalton and Jagger.

Sports: Basketball, volleyball and track.

Favorite sport: Track. The atmosphere is great, and I love how much of a team sport it is. Everybody comes together and works hard for the success of the team. Also because of coach Donner. He is an amazing coach and does everything in his power to see the team achieve.

Favorite food and where to get it: Cereal. Basically anywhere.

Likes: New socks and shoes, turtles, cats, baking, boating, art.

Dislikes: Hearing people chew, spiders, tornadoes.

Person with the greatest influence on my athletic career: Coach Donner. I had him as a teacher in junior high, and he always discussed track with me and always joked, “Wanna just come up to the high school and run for me?” And now that I have him as my coach, he always pushes me to do my best and has helped me improve in all aspects of track.

Person with the greatest influence in my life: My dad. He is my biggest supporter. He does everything he can to make me happy as well as my family.

Who’s your dream celebrity prom date: Thomas Rhett.

If stranded on a deserted island, I would have my: Phone.

The last song I listened to: “Unforgettable” by Thomas Rhett.

People would be surprised to know: I don’t have any common sense. And I can’t get myself anywhere without a GPS no matter how many times I’ve been there.

I stay home to watch: The Voice or Riverdale.

When I need luck for a big game, I: Pray with my team.

The funniest person I’ve ever known: My Grandpa Roy. He is such a humorous man and always has everyone laughing, even when he doesn’t try to be funny.

What they’ll say about me at school after I graduate: “I can’t believe she thought zero wasn’t a number”

Most embarrassing moment: Making a basket in BV North’s hoop in junior high.

Most unforgettable moment: Winning the regional championship in basketball my freshman year.

Ultimate sports fantasy: Go to the Olympics.

What I would like to do in life: Graduate from college to become a pediatric nurse.

Three words that best describe myself: Caring, outgoing, and hardworking.
