The Illinois Department of Human Services announced Dec. 28 the newly expanded statewide program HealthChoice Illinois for Medicaid recipients.
Perry Memorial Hospital and Perry Clinics, located in Bureau, Marshall, and Putnam counties, announces PMH will participate in three of the managed health care plans, regardless of patient origin. The managed health plans are Blue Cross Community, Meridian, and Illinicare.
According to the IDHS website, the HealthChoice Illinois education and enrollment packets were to begin to be mailed Jan. 8. Individuals will receive information about their plan choices, the time frame for, and how to get more information and assistance making a plan choice.
HealthChoice Illinois participants will need to enroll with a primary care provider (PCP) in a managed care health plan.
Enrollees will have until April 8, for initial signup. An enrollee will have 90 days to change the selected provider. Medicaid patients only are affected by this change.
