Andrew Hemminghaus

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Andrew Thomas Hemminghaus passed away too soon in life on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, he was 51. He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven.

His mother, Arleen French, sisters Paula (Brian) Mueller, Jennifer (Jim) Lancaster and Lisa (Mike) Haines, and brothers Henry Hemminghaus and Philip (Deb) Hemminghaus, along with 11 nieces and nephews, and several cousins, aunts and uncles will miss him dearly to go along with anyone he had ever met. If you needed help, he was there.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hank Hemminghaus, and his grandparents, Henry and Anna Hemminghaus, and Grant and Vera Thompson.

He worked in the Phoenix area as a machinist for several years with Smith West and Honeywell and then with his brother owning and managing Team Corn & Soil Inc. in Princeton for 12 years.

You could see him at Cardinals games, the Indy 500, NASCAR races, boat races and anything else that went fast. He loved working on all of his vehicles and bikes. He attended Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix, Ariz., St. John Lutheran in Silvis, Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Tempe, Ariz., and St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Mesa, Ariz.

There will be a service celebrating his life at Christ Church Lutheran, 3901 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, Ariz., on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m. He will be cremated and rest with his Dad. All of his family and friends are invited. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.

If you would like to do something for Andy, make time in your life and ask your family or friends if there is anything you can help them with. Most of the time when you asked Andy what he was doing, he said, “going here to help someone.”

In lieu of flowers, you can donate to Christ Lutheran School, 3901 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018, or the ANA Fund (Arizona Nursery Association), 1430 W. Broadway Road, Suite 110, Tempe, AZ 85282 for a scholarship program in his Dad’s name. Checks written to ANA Fund, please note for Hemminghaus Fund.
