PRINCETON — The second movie in the Princeton Public Library’s latest film series, “Richard Widmark: What a Character,” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the library. Admission is free. This series of movies features some of the character roles that Princeton’s famous hometown Hollywood movie star portrayed later in his career. Wednesday’s movie from the 1970s tells the story of a long-distance European train that is the setting for a murder. A great fictional detective who happens to be on board is called upon to solve the crime before the train, which has become stuck in a giant snow drift, can be freed and reach its destination. Many Hollywood superstars of the era portray characters in this enthralling mystery. More than 50 Widmark film titles on DVD are available for library patrons to check out and view at home.
