Jay Stabler

ELGIN — Jay A. Stabler, 72, of Elgin passed away on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Advocate Sherman Hospital, Elgin.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1945, in Princeton, the son of James and Marie (Davis) Stabler. Jay served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked as a computer programmer for more than 20 years. Upon retirement, he decided to drive for Pace in Elgin. Jay enjoyed golf, traveling and his Harley Davidson, but most of all he loved and enjoyed his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Andrea Marie; his mother; two sisters, Dona Becker and Margaret (Gene) Swanson; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Redmer; his sister-in-law, Janice (Jack) Ziegler; brothers-in-law, Raymond Redmer Jr. and Michael Gilliam along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin is assisting the family.
