Elizabeth Wood

WYANET — Elizabeth E. Wood, 88, of Wyanet died Friday, March 9, 2018, at Liberty Village of Princeton.

She was born May 22, 1929, in Wyanet, the daughter of Earl T. and Pearl M. (Smith) Hamrick. Elizabeth married Wilbur H. Wood Aug. 21, 1949, in Wyanet. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1999.

Elizabeth graduated from Wyanet High School with the Class of 1947. She was a homemaker and also worked as a clerk at several Princeton stores.

She attended the Wyanet Community Bible Church and helped with crafts during vacation Bible school. As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, sewing and craftwork. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Carlyn (Judy) Wood of Wyanet, Sherry (John) Lange of Walnut and Linda (Duane) Rod of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Sarah Wood, Benjamin (Beatty) Wood, Amie (Erik) Ellberg, Chad Lange, Brian Lange, Eric (Amanda) Rod and Dana (Todd) Maynard; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Eli, Blake, Jayce, Brynn and Tyler; one sister, Irene Moore of Mackinaw; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Michael Lange; two brothers, Clyde Hamrick and Stacy Hamrick; and two sisters, Mildred Woods and Georgia Muriekes.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Stites of the Wyanet Community Bible Church officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Raymond A. Sapp Memorial Township Library in Wyanet.
