I would like to thank all who voted yes for the Bureau Valley referendum. You gave the students of Bureau Valley up-to-date facilities and expanded educational opportunities.
I would also like to thank all who donated to the Bureau Valley Communities United for Yes. Without your donations, the informational campaign would not have been possible.
I would especially like to thank the administrators, teachers and community members who have been involved in the committees since last November. Your ideas, plans and hours of work have paid off for the students of Bureau Valley.
Lastly, I would like to thank Mr. Brian Smith and all who filed the petition against the life-safety addition planned after the last referendum failed. Your petition united community members, administrators and teachers to come together to develop this plan.
Most important, if the life-safety addition had gone forward, we would have only had South 3-8 at the high school; we are now moving forward with a North-South consolidated Junior High.
Once again, thank you all. This referendum passage is a huge step forward for the future generations of Bureau Valley students.
