Ladd Village Board

Meeting Minutes

LADD — The Ladd Village Board conducted the following business at its March meeting:

• Informed community garden organizer Regina Stanmar that the location of the garden would be near the village’s water tower at LaSalle and Cedar streets.

• Recommended the replacement of 50 feet of village sidewalk in the 200 block of North Central Avenue.

• Approved the close-out of the substation upgrade project with a final payment of $13,103.50.

• Passed a resolution designating the Heritage Corridor Convention & Visitors Bureau as Ladd’s tourism agency on record with the state of Illinois.

• Proclaimed April as Fair Housing Month.

• Authorized the DePue Men’s Club to solicit Ladd businesses for their APBA boat racing program.

• Approved a donation of $280 to the Hall Township Food Pantry for eight Easter food baskets.

• Approved a Class A liquor license to TTF LLC.

• Proclaimed April 5 as Junior Achievement Day.

• Entered closed session to discuss the union contract with the IBEW.

• Invested $53,000 in a 30-day certificate of deposit for the Motor Fuel Tax Fund.

• Recommended additional proposals be sought for the replacement of sidewalk in the 200 block of South Main Street.

• Reviewed the water treatment plant inspection report from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

• Heard of a new mandate to survey the water distribution system for lead lines.

• Passed an ordinance authorizing the extinguishment of a village easement across Lot 23 in Spring Creek Addition.

• Approved a $25 donation to Special Olympics.

• Heard that sewer cleaning and televising would be performed during the week of April 2.

• Heard that a $1,000 donation toward playground fall protection had been pledged by the National VFW organization.

• Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $174,881.94.

• Received the police department’s February 2018 activity report.

The Ladd Village Board’s next regular meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in the village hall.
