Harry Lehning

LADD — Harry P. Lehning, 85, of Ladd died Thursday, April 12, 2018, in the Mendota Lutheran Home.

Harry was born in Chicago on March 14, 1933, to Philip and Esther (Lemke) Lehning. He married Ellen “Jane” Price on June 20, 1955.

He served with the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a retired teacher and coach at Buda-Western, Hall and Mendota high schools.

Harry was a member of the Mendota Elks and a longtime member of the Mendota Country Club and Indian Hills Golf Course. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling.

Harry is survived by his wife, Jane; two daughters, Kathy Lorenzi of Ladd and Ellen Lehning of Jamestown, N.Y.; one son, Mike (Traci) Lehning of Bourbonnais; two grandchildren, Nicole and Marcus Lehning; and one sister, Phyllis Jelenick of Lowell, Ind.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Lehning.

Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, April 17, in the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd with the Rev. Mike Slutz, pastor of the Hollowayville Church of Christ, officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at a later date in the Biggsville Cemetery in Biggsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
