Thomas Yepsen

LASALLE — Thomas L. Yepsen, 65, of LaSalle died Saturday, June 9, 2018, at home.

Born July 28, 1952, in Princeton to Roger and Velma (Grant) Yepsen, he married Sheila Weinzierl June 24, 1985, in Princeton. She died May 1, 2016.

He had worked as a millwright.

He was a member of the Illinois Trappers Association, Fur Takers of America and was a state contracted nuisance trapper. He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1974 and was in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 with the 101st Airborne division.

He is survived by his mother, Velma Yepsen of Princeton; a sister, Brenda Blair of Oglesby; and a brother, Gerald (Mary) Yepsen of Princeton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila; his father, Roger; and a nephew.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 18, at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley with Deacon John Murphy officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton. Visitation will be Friday from noon until the time of services in the funeral home.
