LASALLE — Ethel J. Bregant, 94, of LaSalle passed away at 11:58 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018, in Manor Court in Princeton.
She was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Mark to Ignatius and Ursulla (Ostanek) Novak. She married Frank Bregant on Oct. 21, 1950, in St. Roch’s Church in LaSalle.
For nine years, she worked in Chicago as secretary. For 25 years, she was employed by L-P High School as a secretary.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church and a member of SNPJ (Slovenska Narodna Podporna Jednota).
Surviving are one son, David (Janet) Bregant of Gilbert, Ariz.; one daughter, Donna (Tony) Sorcic of Princeton; three grandchildren, Christopher (Hannah) Sorcic of Chicago, Michael Sorcic of Chandler, Ariz., and Eric Bregant of Chandler, Ariz.; one sister, Madeline Kozuba of Peru; and three great-granddogs, Wrigley, Diego and Ellie.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; seven sisters, Mary Bradach, Dorothy Ball, Mildred Reid, Lucille Lemke, Faye Schafer, and Joan and Ann Novak; two brothers, Raymond and Iggy Novak.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, in St. Patrick’s Church in LaSalle with Father Kyle Lucas of LaSalle Catholic Parishes officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for her favorite charities.
