Wyanet Summer Festival kicks off Thursday

Three-day fest ends Saturday

WYANET — Wyanet is revving up for its annual summer festival, which kicks off Thursday evening with carnival rides, food, pageants and a beer garden.

The festival continues on through the weekend until midnight on Saturday, which is when a lucky 50/50 winner will be drawn.

The festival features plenty of family fun activities during the day and live music in the beer garden on Friday and Saturday nights.

Thursday, July 12

• From 5 to 10 p.m., there will be carnival rides, games and food. Armbands for the rides will be $15.

• From 5 to 8 p.m., the local Boy Scout troop will have a taco stand.

• From 5 to 9 p.m., the Community Club will have a food stand.

• At 6 p.m., the Little Miss and Queen Pageant will begin on the main stage. The baby contest winners will also be announced.

• From 5 to 10 p.m., the beer garden will be open.

• At 6:30 p.m. Texas Hold-Em signup will begin, with the tourney starting at 7 p.m.

• At 6:30 p.m. a bags tourney begins.

Friday, July 13

• From 5 to 10 p.m., there will be carnival rides, games and food. Armbands for the rides will be $15.

• From 5 to 8 p.m., Boy Scout taco stand.

• From 5 to 9 p.m., Community Club food stand.

• From 7 to 9 p.m., The Generics Band will perform on the main stage.

• At 5 p.m., the beer garden will open.

• From 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the band, Forced Country, will perform. Come dressed in country-themed attire.

Saturday, July 14

• At 7 a.m., 5K race registration begins, with the race starting at 8 a.m.

• From 2 to 10 p.m., there will be carnival rides. Armband for rides will be $20 from 3 to 9 p.m. Advanced tickets can be purchased for $17.

• At 6 a.m., BBQ cook-off will begin. Participants must pre-register.

• At 7 a.m., tractor show registration begins.

• From 8 a.m. to noon, antique tractor show will be at the corner of Walnut and Front streets.

• From 8 to 4 p.m., a craft vendor show will be held in the park.

• At 10 a.m., kids sidewalk chalk art contest will kick off in the park.

• From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., face painting by BrenDazigns.

• From 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., food stand.

• At 1 p.m., the parade begins.

• From 1 to 5 p.m., Finding Patience rock stacking with Matt Denault.

• At 1:30 p.m., bags tournament will be held.

• From 2 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., the beer garden will be open.

• At 2:30 p.m., kiddie tractor pull signup begins, with the tractor pull starting at 3 p.m.

• At 3 p.m., a dunk tank will be set up.

• At 3:30 p.m. ice cream eating contest.

• From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Steve Bobbitt, a Rod Stewart tribute, will perform.

• At 7:30 p.m., a drawdown will be held.

• At 7:30 p.m., adult sidewalk chalk contest will take place in the beer garden.

• From 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the band, 303, will perform in the beer garden. The attire will be themed Mardi Gras.

• At 8:45 p.m., Chicken Drop Drawing will be held. The first place winner will receive $500 and the second place winner will receive $250.

• At midnight, the 50/50 winner will be drawn.
