Cheryl McCoy

SHEFFIELD — Cheryl M. McCoy, 69, of Sheffield died at 3:07 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Aperion Care in Bloomington.

She was born Sept. 27, 1948, in Watertown, S.D., the daughter of Bennie and Caroline (Knutson) Oleson. Cheryl married Gerald McCoy Nov. 18, 1967, in Mineral. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2018.

Cheryl worked at Harper-Wyman in Princeton for 17 years.

She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, walking, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by seven children, Robert Oleson of Kewanee, Brenda McCoy of Wyanet, Bernadine McCoy of Sheffield, Randy McCoy of Garber, Iowa, Barbara McCoy of Sheffield, Rich McCoy of Peoria and Ronnie McCoy of Mineral; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Carol Keller of Princeton; two brothers-in law, Buddy McCoy and Bud Reneau; and five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four siblings, Roger Oleson, Kathy Thorson, Betsey Reneau and Robert John Oleson; and one nephew, John Phelps.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield.

Memorials may be directed to Alzheimers Association.
