Sept. 22 is National Museum Day. It would be great to read about Bureau County’s proud, little, outlying historical museums plus our well-kept “big” one in Princeton.
It would be especially nice to read about the addition (Mason Library building) Mr. Sash so graciously gave to the county in his grandparents’ names. What has evolved with that?
Would it be possible to have a representative from each town’s museum on “the board” and have a museum-a-month responsible for a program or exhibit?
The schools might find it a tool to develop a love of history or geography. And we might be surprised at the discreet ways there are to raise a little maintenance money.
We are grateful for all the work and ingenuity abundantly volunteered in the whole of this county. Pride in our heritage makes for a healthy community.
