He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Tyson Farrell; and a brother-in-law, Tom Illing.

A private family service will take place at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton. A public celebration of his life will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Ye Olde Underground Inn in Princeton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ohio Fire Department in his memory.
