Patricia Dzierzynski

SPRING VALLEY — Patricia A. Dzierzynski, 80, of Spring Valley passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

Patricia was born on June 14, 1938, in LaSalle to Thomas Hynds and Mary Lauer. She married Harold Dzierzynski on Aug. 29, 1959, in Cedar Point.

Patricia was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru Township High School and L-P-O Junior College. She had worked at Ford Hopkins Drug Store and Westclox in her younger days. However, she worked most of her life as the office manager for Dzierzynski Brothers Gulf, the Spring Valley Motor Company, and finally retiring from Valley Ford.

She was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish and the former St. Anne Sodality. She enjoyed making homemade ravioli and going to the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library, as she was an avid reader. Pat also loved her cats.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Spring Valley; her children, Argia (John) Elmendorf of Geneva, Harold (Jane) Dzierzynski of Peru and Melody (Tim) Schultz of LaMoille; her five grandchildren, Kyle, Aly and Brett Witek, and Rae Anne and Ryan Schultz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.

A prayer service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (Richard Mautino Drive location), with the Rev. Scott Potthoff officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the services and private burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
