PRINCETON — Rashiyd Ahmad, 41, of Menands, N.Y., pleaded guilty on Sept. 27 to the Class 1 felony of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $20,000 in fines, fees and costs, which have been paid in full. Ahmad was arrested on Oct. 30, 2017, by the Illinois State Police on Interstate 80. Police found cocaine in his vehicle. He was on probation for a federal drug conviction and is facing probation revocation in U.S. District Court following the completion of his state prison sentence.
