WALNUT — Tammy Stroup Monier, 47, of Walnut Passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at her home in Walnut.
Tammy was born Sunday, March 7, 1971, at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, the daughter of Roy Vincen and Karen (Hufnagel) Stroup. She married Jeremy Monier March 4, 2006, at Boyd’s Grove United Methodist Church in Bradford. He survives in Walnut.
Also surviving are two daughters, Taylor Read, 22, and Payton Monier, 11, of Walnut; her mother, Karen Stroup of Westcliffe, Colo.; two sisters, Wendy (Robert Buffum) Stroup and Kelly Stroup, all of Westcliffe, Colo.; and a few nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Vincen.
Tammy was raised in rural Henry, and as a child loved riding horses and playing with the many farm animals. She graduated from Henry Senachwine High School with the Class of 1989. Tammy attended the South Eastern Academy of Travel and Tourism in 1990 and Illinois Valley Community College in 2002. She worked as a travel agent in Princeton and Kewanee for several years, worked at Bureau Valley Vet for five years and Martin Engineering for 11 years. Tammy was very much about her family and loved to bake.
A private funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at Boyd’s Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Walnut Community Center.
Memorials may be directed to ALS Foundation or to the family for a college fund for her daughter, Payton.
