Storm, Barnett take down Orion

Area roundup

Bureau Valley rode the 26-point effort of Kale Barnett past Orion 59-41 in a Three Rivers crossover at the Storm Cellar Wednesday night.

Tyler Gustafson had 17 points for BV (12-5).

BV’s game Tuesday with Erie-Prophetstown was canceled because of a power outage due to downed power lines from high winds.

Girls basketball

Indian Creek 59, LaMoille-Ohio 23: The Lady Timberwolves built a 26-10 halftime lead on the way to victory in Little Ten Conference play Thursday in Paw Paw.

Heiman poured in 33 points for IC (9-14, 3-3).

Emma Lundquist had six points and Kylee Brown five for the Lady Lions (4-14, 0-6).

Wrestling

At Princeton: Orion returned to the Prouty Gym mats after taking second in the PIT to defeat the Tigers 51-29 in TRAC wrestling action. PHS, however, scored a 53-27 win over IVC.

PIT champ Chase Tatum (220) and Drew Harp (170) both won twice by falls, and Matthew Harris (113) swept his two matches.

Bowling

At Ladd; Sterling (2,761) defeated host Hall (2,349) in girls bowling Thursday at Ladd Lanes.

Hall’s Emily Breland had the high series of the day at 530. Other leading bowlers for Hall were Regina Scarpaci (414), Destiny Harmon (377) and Katie Follmer (334).
