PRINCETON — The Bureau County Farm Bureau hosted its 104th annual meeting on Jan. 12 at the Elks Lodge in Princeton.

During the meeting, special guests, current directors and staff were introduced, members were elected to serve on the 2019 Bureau County Farm Bureau board, and official business was approved.

President Evan Hultine addressed the crowd announcing honors received at this year’s IAA annual meeting and local programs highlighted for their success. He also spoke about the plans for the new location on north Main Street in Princeton and the planned sale of the current building on Elm Place.

At the meeting, the following directors were elected to serve a two-year term: Kent Bickett, District 2, Seat 1; Kathi Reed, District 3, Seat 1; and David Ohlson, At-Large. Current directors recognized for their continued service at the annual meeting were William Anderson, District 1, Seat 2; Cam Howey, District 2, Seat 2; Rex Elmore, District 3, Seat 2 and Evan Hultine, At-Large, Seat 2; and Brian Carlson, At-Large, Seat 4.

Special recognition was given to retiring director, Curtis Marcum, who served 12 consecutive years on the board. He was elected in 2007 to serve as the Clarion Township director. From 2011 to 2016 he served as board treasurer, and from 2017 to 2018 he served as an At-Large Director.

Prior to this, Marcum had served two other times on the board as Clarion Township director from 1985 to 1988 and from 1995 to 2000.

Officers were elected within the board at a reorganization board meeting the week following the annual meeting. Evan Hultine of Princeton was re-elected to serve as president, Rex Elmore of Tiskilwa was re-elected to serve as vice president, Tony Stirling of Spring Valley was re-elected to serve as treasurer, and William Anderson of Walnut was re-elected to the role of secretary. Each of these positions are one-year terms.
