Lenten music and luncheon

PRINCETON — Hampshire Colony Congregational Church in Princeton will host a Lenten music, meditation and luncheon Wednesday, April 17, at the church, 604 S. Church St. in Princeton. Meditation will be from 12:10 to 12:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary and the luncheon will be served in the Fellowship Hall. Music will be provided by Jennifer Merth and Clare Suarez. The menu will be sandwiches and potato salad. A free-will donation will be accepted. The church is handicapped accessible.

Foreign Language Fair

MANLIUS — Bureau Valley High School’s Spanish and German clubs will sponsor their annual Foreign Language Fair on Thursday, April 25, in the cafeteria commons. Food, skits and crafts will make the event a fun night for families. Attendees can learn to dance around a Maypole to celebrate spring. Doors will open at 4 p.m., and carry-outs will be available until 6:00. For more information, call the high school at 815-445-4004.

Egg walk in Tampico

TAMPICO — The Tampico Lions Club will again sponsor the annual Easter egg walk at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in the Reagan Community Center gym. This is for all area children ages preschool through fifth grade. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.

Egg hunt in Malden

MALDEN — The Malden eighth-grade cheerleading squad will host an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, on the lawn area behind the school. Any child age 9 months to fourth-grade is welcome. Prizes will be awarded. Everyone will find eggs and receive a goody bag. In case of rain, the egg hunt will be in the school.

Free kids fishing expo

PERU — The 21st free kids fishing expo will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Baker Lake in Peru. The event, for children ages 6 and up, features various how-to clinics every 15 minutes, games and prizes, as well as free food and drinks. Bait will be provided. Limited loaner fishing poles will also be available.

Cemetery work day

OHIO — A work day to clean up Union Cemetery in Ohio has been scheduled for Saturday, April 27, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Anyone wishing to help is invited to just show up on that day.

Herb guild will meet

STANDARD — The Illinois Valley Herb Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Putnam County Senior Center in Standard. The speaker of the month will be John Lynn from Peoria on Illinois becoming the Prairie State. The refreshment committee will be club members Karen Verda and Doris Miller. New members are always welcome.

Open Table supper in Sheffield

SHEFFIELD — St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheffield will host a free Open Table supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at the Sheffield Methodist Church. The menu will be pasta, salad and dessert.

Egg hunt in Princeton

PRINCETON — Christ Community Church’s annual community Easter egg hunt will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, for children ages 1 to 10. The church is located at 1719 S. Euclid Ave. in Princeton.

Blood drive in LaMoille

LAMOILLE — An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 15, at LaMoille High School, 801 S. Main. To make an appointment, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 800-RED-CROSS.

Omicron Chapter to meet

OTTAWA — The Omicron Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Pitstick Pavilion in Ottawa. The dinner cost will be $21. The program speaker will be Josh Englehaupt.
