Grateful for spring, and a number of other things, too

See, spring did come. Well, with some minor weather issues, like wind, wind, rain and wind (and snow).

Out here on the prairie, it seems to blow all the time. When the weatherman says “breezy,” he means typhoon.

I have had two recent experiences that make me feel so grateful.

The fundraiser for Freedom House in Henry County went so well. Thank you all so much for coming forward.

And Rep. Dan Swanson invited me to be his guest at the first brunch and Capitol visit for 45 women who have led a cause that helps a community become better by helping others.

I was able to hear so many great stories as we shared our day. Of course, the House floor with all the legislators, there is a stunning picture of democracy working. We can complain, but it is the best method in the world, and we CAN change things, if we choose.

Gratitude can be a way to overall health.

If we are upset about someone or something, and we can pick out one thing for which we can be grateful in the situation, and continue to build on that, we can feel and act better.

Of course, the more tragic it is, this process can be and will be a long process. However, it still works.

We all know people who can find blessings in some of the most awful circumstances, and we marvel at them. Don’t mark yourself short; we can all do this and come out the other side whole.

At this Passover and Easter time, find the glory of another spring, joy and gratitude. This, then, causes us to be kind.
