NEPONSET — The eighth-grade class at Neponset Grade School spent the year fundraising for their eighth-grade trip to Six Flags Great America in Chicago.

The students sold wreaths and pizzas, and held a concession stand at all athletic contests.

After paying for their trip, they had an abundance of funds left. They decided that they wanted to donate those funds to charity.

Throughout the years, Neponset Grade School has held canned good food drives for the Western Bureau County Food Pantry, with the most recent drive this year supplying hundreds of baked good items for the holidays to those families in need. The students all decided that they wanted these funds to go back to the community, and the Western Bureau County Food Pantry is what they chose.

The class recently presented a check for $1,000 to the pantry.
