Obituaries

Gary Philhower Sr.

PRINCETON — Gary L. Philhower Sr., 69, of Princeton, formerly of Sterling, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Aperion Care of Princeton. He bravely confronted and fought his battle with leukemia with his family by his side.

Born May 5, 1950, in Sterling to Ernie and Ruth Philhower, he married Joyce Bryan in Silva, N.C., in November of 1969. She survives.

He graduated from Western High School in Buda. He was a truck driver for more than 45 years.

Also surviving are four brothers, Chuck (Margie) Kochsmier, Gale (Kathy) Frank, Steve (Kristen) Kochsmier and Eddie (Brenda) Kochsmier; three sons, Gary (Laurie) Philhower of Sheffield, Chris (Michele) Philhower of Wyanet, and Jimmy Bryan (Brandi Aber) of Sheffield; two daughters, Pam Philhower (Lawrence Bissonette) of Princeton and Michelle Philhower (Pedro Pantoja) of Princeton; one cousin, Mike Rueter; a family friend, Patty Newman; 10 grandchildren, Timothy and Brittany Philhower, Katie and Christopher Pantoja, Anthony Sturtewagon, Matt and Logan Philhower, Stephen Bissonette, and Brantley and Kinsley Bryan; and two great-grandchildren, Colton Jurwich and Savannah Philhower.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth Ann Kochsmier; and a brother, Danny Kochsmier.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home in Princeton.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
