PRINCETON — Marc Decker is turning his love of musical instruments and sound equipment into a new business.

Decker has opened a shop, Almost Vintage, at 451 S. Main St. in the Apollo Theater building.

His inventory includes items such as P.A. speakers, bass and guitar amplifiers, keyboards and some vintage instruments, including guitars and bass guitars.

Why open such a business?

“I had too much equipment. I couldn’t move around the house,” Decker said with a laugh.

The music aficionado, who plays keyboard, guitar and bass, accumulated the items while performing in local bands, the latest being Boom Boom and the Bodega Boyz.

The issue was finding the right location at the right price.

“It (the shop) came open,” Decker said. “I’ve been wanting to do it.”

Decker said business hours will be Monday through Saturday, 1 until 6 p.m., or by appointment. The telephone number is 815-579-1296.
