Victorian ice cream party
PRINCETON — The Bureau County Historical Society will host a free old-fashioned Victorian ice cream party from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, on the front porch and lawn of the Newell Bryant House in Princeton. There will be ice cream and punch, as well as Victorian musical instruments, children’s toys and games, and fun for the whole family. They will also offer a taste of cucumber ice cream, a Victorian favorite. Tours of the Clark Norris House and the Newell Bryant House will also be available. The ice cream party is a traditional way for Victorian families to celebrate the season that they loved best. For more information, contact BCHS Curator David Gugerty at 815-875-2184.
